I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor. But then I overheard your prayer, that you be this and nothing more than just some grateful faithful woman's favourite singing millionaire, the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair, working for the Yankee Dollar.

Greek Parade

Last Sunday was the Greek independence day parade on 5th avenue. It was a beautiful sun drenched day and the national spirit was riding high taking us back to the ancients lands of our ancestors who brought most of you western decadents the light of civilization. Here are some selective pictures with minor comments...

The children, the children, always at the forefront...the future!

Horses on 5th avenue in a majestic display of our Greekness.

They look so real!

Behold the Spartan-Trooper straight from the intergalactic battles of Sparta!

Filled with pride the common folk enjoy the display of their heritage.

The hand of God.

Greek and American values, a perfect match in one of the last floats of the parade. It was hard to contain our nationalist tears with this one
