I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor. But then I overheard your prayer, that you be this and nothing more than just some grateful faithful woman's favourite singing millionaire, the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair, working for the Yankee Dollar.

belle and sebastian etc

so there have been private sad developments in my life that i'm dealing with and won't talk about but here is something from last week and prior to the aforementioned private sad developments.

me and luis went to see b&s in battery park and they were great. i'd seen them before in greece but this time was even better. i mean luis was there :-)
the set was a mix of the old -i fought in a war, if you're feeling sinister etc- and the new -from the life pursuit album which is very good by the way. i think the main take away was that they really are a fun bunch of people, especially what's his name the main guy -look him up, i'm too lazy. some girl was invited to sing though she messed it up and another one was invited to dance on stage and it was shall we say jolly good fun. the crowd was what i like to refer to as hipsters with a slight derogatory grin.

i took out my camera and realised that i had no batteries but i managed to steal these from other blogs, thank you unknown contributors. i asked a girl behind me if i could borrow her batteries and she said they were the only ones she had. then she offered to send me her pictures if i gave her my email, i said yes without thinking and thankfully dissapeared promptly after the concert was over. she was probably just stupid, not realising i could borrow the batteries, take a couple of pictures and give the batteries back. oh well.
by the way geoff, when you search google images for b&s battery park, 4th of july etc you get nothing. food for thought and a reminder that google is not all powerful which i know you know.
