I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor. But then I overheard your prayer, that you be this and nothing more than just some grateful faithful woman's favourite singing millionaire, the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair, working for the Yankee Dollar.

music and concerts

so this week i started making up for lost time concert wise in ny. i also started this 9-5 internship which so far i have to say has energised me for some reason. anyway, on wednesday i went to a cocnert by club d'elf, john medeski latest group. the line up included a violinist, a dj, bass, organ of course, drums and an oud player which gave the whole thing an eastern folksy feeling that was great. the music ranged from freejazzy type stuff to more traditional songs with an eastern flavor and all together it was really good. they'll be coming out with their first studio album soon so look out for it ,it'll be worth.

on wednesday maceo parker the soul of the jbs was playing in brooklyn and i couldn't miss it. let me tell you, these old timers can really play loud and long. towards the end i saw people rushing the stage and just when i thought that someone lame like blink 182 would show up, a white clad prince shows up and people went nuts. anyway he was great, he played the last song from 3121 which has a great groove to it.

erik's in town!! we went to another concert yesterday in central park, very chill, mainly so called nu-jazz stuff, all thirsty ear artists. it's promising a music filled next month or so...hopefully.
