free association

it's been a strange day, finishing up a take home and a so called mini paper and getting ready to go to class and then rufus' comedy show with some laundry and bloomingdales' thrown in. a lot of new -for me at least- music and most of it pretty aggressive but i don't feel aggressive. i cleaned the top of my fridge, i recommend it. it's like union square, you never know what you're going to find there.

so yesterday i was having this conversation about ace ventura, the only movie i ever walked out on, and someone said for them that was edward scisorhands which blew me away and which lead to a discussion about johnny depp which finally led to vanessa paradis. now i don't know if this was only big in europe (luis had no idea what i was talking about and i rely on him for music trivia) but then i couldn't remember the fucking song, you know the one with baby baby in it. big help, i know. anyway i got home and looked it up and it's be my baby and it's the one that says "all i'm asking you for, when i walk out the door is to be my baby (baby)". anyway that whole album was produced and written by lenny cravitz and according to allmusic it flopped comercially but it was an artistic success!!! it may be true and anyway she covers "waiting for my man" by vu in a very sexy cover which is what prompted me to write about this, see vu reference in last sentence of last paragraph. pheww.

ok, i'm leaving for greece on wednesday so happy journey to me, let's all pray the subway strike doesn't happen cause then i'm fucked.
