I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor. But then I overheard your prayer, that you be this and nothing more than just some grateful faithful woman's favourite singing millionaire, the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair, working for the Yankee Dollar.

new york

i guess i haven't written anything in almost a month but all of you know what's been going on so it's not really a big deal. new york hasn't been good too me yet though i'm looking at the future with optimism. after almost a month of being here and having been sheltered in both brooklyn and the bronx (mainly) by wonderful people, i finally have an apartment i can call my own. a lot of the stuff i moved in today and the rest i'll be getting throughout the next weeks. now i can change the settings of this blog and write new york as my location. now i can actually write an entry. classes have meanwhile started and it's time to concentrate on those rather than learning the ins and outs of the real estate market in new york. by the way, come to me for advice if you're contemplating a move here. anyway all's well that ends well.

ps. i got two white hairs on the right side. i blame it all on the aforementioned real estate market.
