I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor. But then I overheard your prayer, that you be this and nothing more than just some grateful faithful woman's favourite singing millionaire, the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair, working for the Yankee Dollar.

holy shit!

ok, even the worst cynic (see me) has to admit there's some great things happening here. Greece is now both the european champion in football (soccer for the americans) and basketball. Today was an easy win and the american commentators predicting an easy german victory swallowed their tongues. I saw the game over at a friend's house in columbia. I'm sure his neighbours really appreciated 15 greeks clapping and cheering from the first second. it was great and of course europe's final countdown was played in the end! Read your history...

by the way what is up with the bbc website and their complete lack of coverage? see for yourselves

It must be in the Ouzo and the Restina LOL
Seriously though. Greece has done well over the last couple of years. EuroSoccer champions and also hosting a very successful Olympic Games [despite many believing they would never pull it off]. Then they went and won the Eurovision Song Contest this year ... and now the Euro Basketball.
Cant wait for next year and [maybe] another couple of victories. The World Cup maybe? ;-)
